Where do you source Time Current
Curves or Trip Curves for Cutler-Hammer circuit breakers? When it comes to field testing circuit
breakers you need to have the specific Time Current Trip Curves in order to
perform long-time primary injection testing on molded case circuit breakers.
Our company Switch Gear Testing, has been buying all its thermal magnetic
molded case circuit breakers from Westport Apparatus Electrical Supply in
Orange, California.Why, I’ll tell you
why, because they are always professional and they support us with all factory
documentation as required for a certified test. Two months ago a water treatment plant was experiencing some nuisance
tripping with a Cutler-Hammer HFD3225 Series C breaker.Once the customer notified us of the specific
breaker in question all I had to do was call Frank at Westport Apparatus and had
him email us the test time curves No.SC-4438-88A #TC01200002E. With the
right information we were able to specifically determine that the breaker was
tripping too soon and outside the normal operating trip range.Below I’ve included a copy of this Time Current
Curves graph. The room or ambient temperature is critical, because this can
greatly affect your result.Also
providing factory time curve docs really demonstrates to customers the level of
professionalism they want.
Another huge factor for using Westport Apparatus is eliminating stock of
millions of dollars of expensive circuit breakers which the normal full-line
distributors just can't afford to inventory. In fact Frank the owner tells me
that his primary business is to supply the local distributors across the country.
Now that I didn’t know.I guess that’s
why I get the lowest price, because I’m buying direct and not through a
middle-man. Not even the authorized
Cutler-Hammer distributors can afford to stock all the Series C line of Breakers.
Westport Apparatus stock all amps from 15 ampere up to the RD 2500 ampere
breakers. My local supplier is good for pipe, wire lighting and all that stuff
which is not carried by Westport Apparatus. They mainly stock the circuit breakers, panel
boards to mount them in and the hardware connector kits. Understanding how
Cutler-Hammer evolved the KPRL panel boards is another science. Getting the
right parts can only be done by experts and that’s Westport Apparatus.
If
you’re busy like me, go to the best and save time and get the most competitive
prices. I assure you.

Your prices are more affordable than some other websites I visited. Most of them don't even have a new 1 in stock.
